Alwatania was established as a private company. it has been established to develop the energy and construction sector in Sudan and the west African region, benefiting from the long experience and reputation of its parents company (Sunagas), where Sunagas is subsidiary of EMG, the pioneer group that lead the developing of the Energy and Mining sector in Sudan, with net assets worth more than $1B, the Group has diversified its business to cover Electricity, Oil and Gas, Renewables Energy, Mining, infrastructure, construction, batteries, and appliances, where Alwatania has been designated to be responsible for the energy and infrastructure Business in the Group.

The agreement will pave the way for the completion of the Klanayeeb power plant, a project that is considered a cornerstone for the Electricity Sector in Sudan.
The power plant will add 330MW to the electricity generation and will contribute to the stabilization of electricity in east Sudan..
